Veterinary Diagnostics
We are able to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests on the premises in order to make a rapid diagnosis. Our in-house laboratory houses state-of-the-art equipment. We are able to perform complete blood counts, blood chemistry analysis, thyroid tests, heartworm and tick bourne disease tests, urinalysis, fecal and many other tests on a stat basis. Safe radiology, endoscopy and ultrasonography are also available on-site to diagnose illness early and to keep your pet healthy and happy.
Radiology
Digital Radiographs, or X-rays, help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary system problems. Our on-site equipment allows us to provide the images that assist in diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive technique for performing procedures through natural openings in the body or through one or more tiny holes, rather than through large incisions. High-tech fiber optics permits direct visualization and biopsies of your pet’s upper gastrointestinal system. This tool allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of respiratory system, oral, esophageal, stomach and colon conditions. In some cases foreign objects may be removed without the need for surgery.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a non-invasive technology that uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. As the sound waves travel into the body, they return three dimensional images (length, width and depth) of certain internal organs allowing for depth dimension of the organ and good visualization of the edges of the organ. Ultrasound returns results in real time. Pregnancy exams utilizing ultrasound technology are also available.
In-house Lab
We have an in-house laboratory for diagnostic testing, which gives us test results quickly. We can run complete blood chemistry panels, blood tests for heartworm and tick born diseases, as well as urinalysis to check for kidney and bladder health. We are able to share the results of these tests with you in a few minutes and can respond immediately if treatment is needed. A fecal analysis for the presence of parasites including giardia and toxoplasmosis is available by the next day.
